I love the fact that actresses are like, "Oh god, people won't know who I am if I take my husband's last name, sorry honey, I'm keeping it!" "Ya know babe, we can hyphen our last names." "But the people know me as Jennifer Garner, not Jennifer Affleck-Garner, or Garner-Affleck!" "The internet babe, they'll figure it out." "BUT THEY SHOUDLN'T HAVE TO!" "Goddammit fine, jesus, didn't think it was a big deal." (Just an example, but if that was a real conversation, I'd love to be able to see it lol)

It's more of a pride thing. Your name is a part of you. If you became famous as Patty motherfuckin' Smith, you'd want your name to stay Patty motherfuckin' Smith.

Or they're just like, "I like my name as it is. Why fix what ain't broken?"

Honestly, that was more of a joke, which is why I thought it'd be funny to see for real, yet I'm sure people don't care about the fact that 1. It's not a bad joke 2. It's not screaming fuck the whole time 3. Why can't people tell when it's a joke? Seriously, it's a fake conversation made up because I thought it seemed funny, but whatever, people have to assume I'm being dead serious, you'd think the way the conversation is they'd be like, oh, well surely he can't be serious, it must be a joke. But no, it's the internet, say something serious, and everyone's like, lol you so funny man, say a joke, you son of a bitch, how dare you say such a thing. :P Lol life's funny sometimes.

Its 2013, women don't have to change their names.

And? What's your point?

You're Awesome
Good response.

It's probably better for her to keep her name because that's what she's known as in her profession. When women receive PhDs or become widely recognized or just don't give a fuck they keep their name. Honestly it would be more of a hassle to legally change it.

In Hollywood, you work to build your image. Reasons why celebrities don't change their last name often.
