The fish tube is just the first in a long line of attempts to solve the basic question of how humans can help stabilize the natural rhythms of the environment — specifically, fish migration. Yet, it's still so funny!

If you are on or have been near anyone with a social media account this week, you should have noticed the surprisingly satisfying viral video of fish being whooshed through a plastic tube.

The fish tube is just the first in a long line of attempts to solve the basic question of how humans can help stabilize the environment that we've already torn apart. In writing, the concept seems rather boring and not as satisfying. But, just take a look at the "informational" video that has inspired some of the latest and funniest memes!

If there's one thing social media is good for, it's taking real life and turning it into viral memes. Take a look at some of our personal favorites of the whooshing fish!

Now that you get the gist, what are your thoughts on the salmon cannon? Will it start a trend for other ways to restore Earth's natural rhythms? Share with us in the comments!
