She Never Knew What Was Coming
This 21-year-old babysitter, Julia, put up with so much abuse from an entitled mother and son, all to defend little Mia. Julia babysat Mia for her entire 8-year-old life, and no one would make Julia back down. Julia decided to take Mia to the big city one fateful day. Everything seemed great until this entitled Karen boarded the city bus with her nasty son. The boy noticed Mia’s video game and got got jealous. He jumped up and tried to steal the device from Mia’s hands. Julia turned around to scold the boy. Karen told her that she should just let this boy play Mia’s game. Julia told her, “Teach your kid to ask properly, and I’ll think about it.”
Karen screamed, “Don’t tell me how to parent my kid! You’re still a kid yourself!”
Julia noticed that Mia’s seat was shaking, realizing the boy kept kicking it. He kept doing it after Julia told him to stop. Julia threatened to tell the bus driver what was happening if this behavior continued. Karen told her, “He’s bored. Give him the game and he’ll stop. It’s not that hard.”
Julia took Mia to another part of the bus, while she went up to complain to the driver. Suddenly, Julia heard Mia scream, “NO! Let go!”
The boy followed Mia and had her video game in one hand, and Mia’s hair in the other. Karen smirked over this as her son brought the video game back to his seat. Julia stormed over and took back the video game. The boy screamed like a toddler. Mia was also sobbing. Karen demanded that Julia return the game over all the noise. A buss staff member came to the rescue, forcing Karen to sit in the back of the bus. He moved Julia and Mia to the very front and scolded Karen, saying that she was a fully-grown adult, and that she couldn’t force people to give up their possessions to her son. Julia breathed a sigh of relief. The crisis was over. Or was it?!

Duplicitous Delay
The rest of their day went off without a hitch. Julia and Mia returned to the bus with lots of shopping bags. The bus policy was to wait for every customer who had reserved a seat, and to charge them for every minute they were late. Thirty-five minutes after the bus was supposed to leave, Karen and her spoiled brat sauntered onto the bus with ice cream. The driver told them to finish their food outside, which prompted another ten minutes of waiting. Once on board, Karen locked eyes with Julia and Mia, but tried to remain civil. That didn’t last long. The bus staff member explained the policy to Karen. Karen was appalled. “Fine me? What, for a few minutes?! No way, I was told the ride would wait for us, and that was it!”
The staff member responded, “I’m sorry, but we told you this beforehand. It was in the terms and services you agreed to when you bought the tickets.”
“No,” Karen said indignantly, “nobody told me that!”
The staff member exasperatedly asked for her ID. Karen refused. The staff member responded, “If you don’t, I’ll need to get the police involved,” and he returned to his seat, confident that Karen would do the right thing. Nope! Mia was getting sleepy, so she buried her face into Julia’s jacket/makeshift pillow. Karen saw this and leaned forward. “She’s done playing now. So my son can play it.” Karen noted expectantly. Julia told her, “Nope. I don’t care. It’s hers, and we said no. Leave us alone, lady.”
Karen was appalled that somebody told her no. She screamed out, ‘WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT-?!” before being quietly interrupted.
“Me,” Julia forcefully replied. “Please do us, a favor, and don’t wake her up. This isn’t your property. I will ask the driver for help again, you know I’ll do it.”
The bus staff member had been listening in on the entire conversation and turned around. He gave Karen a stern look, so Karen and her son moved a few rows away. Julia thought this Karen had been defeated, but Karen was just planning her worst attack yet.

Sneaky Hands
Julia felt a tiny hand on her leg. Suddenly, Mia shot up with a ferocious scream. The boy was now between Julia’s legs, sneaking up to steal the game from Mia’s hand while she was sleeping. The driver didn’t crash into anything after being so startled, but he pulled over quickly. The little boy was crying, Karen was yelling at Mia, and Mia was crying in response. Another passenger tried to separate everyone, while Karen went on a rant to the bus driver. Karen exclaimed, ‘This selfish girl scared my baby! She screamed right in his face!”
The driver replied, “Ma’am, wasn’t your son underneath her seat? Why wasn’t he seated?”
Karen told him, “He’s a good kid, so he can do whatever he wants!” She turned and looked back at Julia. “You OWE my child that game now!”
The crying boy reached for the game again, and that was it for Julia. She pushed him back against his mother. “YOU HURT MY BABY!” Karen screeched.
Julia quickly retaliated with, “Be glad he’s underage, otherwise he would be facing charges now! Multiple attempts to steal my property, crawling underneath our legs and touching us! For an adult, that’s assault! Child Protective Services would want to know you’ve encouraged him to do this!” Karen was going to push Julia over the edge.

Karen’s Final Trick
Karen exclaimed, “You have no right to talk to me like that! Your brat made my baby boy cry!” Karen tried to push past Julia to get to Mia’s game. Julia didn’t have long to respond, as the driver and the other passenger grabbed the thrashing Karen. They made her sit back in her chair, obviously defeated. But nothing would stop this wicked Karen. Julia texted Mia’s parents about this bus being late, but then she heard Karen whispering into her own phone. She realized that Karen was calling the police and lying about a stolen toy, child abuse, and being attacked by several men. It was all a complete lie. Julia rushed to the front, telling the driver what was happening. He immediately called the police himself to straighten out the story.
Eight cops waited for Karen when the bus ended its route. Mia’s mom was there, trying to figure out what was happening. Karen and her son were questioned, as well as the rest of the passengers. The bus driver handed over security camera footage, which busted Karen and her son. They were banned from the bus company, and Karen was charged with multiple offenses. Julia received only a warning for pushing the boy. Child Protective Services was charged with looking over Karen’s family. Unfortunately for Julia and Mia, they weren’t free from these cretins yet!

One Last Terror
Only a month later, Julia and Mia took another bus trip to the city, to make up for the previous one. Julia noticed a familiar boy with a man at his side. It was Karen’s son. Sure enough, the boy soon walked over and demanded Mia’s video game. Julia tried to politely deny him, so the little boy screamed for his dad. Luckily, the same bus driver was present, and he wouldn’t put up with any more of this family. The driver claimed, “Young man, you were banned from this bus last month. You need to get off of this bus, or I’ll have to call the police again.”
His father tried to protest, so the driver called the cops again. The father even got arrested for resisting police. It turns out that he and his son used fake names to buy the tickets, so he was arrested for fraud too. Thankfully this was the end of Julia and Mia’s strife, and they were finally able to get some peace and quiet to themselves, having vanquished this family of Karens once and for all.
