Many dog breeds have become renowned for their special talents. Collies are famous for their herding instinct, greyhounds for their speed and sight, bloodhounds for their sense of smell, and golden retrievers for, as their name suggests, their adeptness at retrieving things—namely, waterfowl.
However, some dog breeds have no clear skills. What is a chihuahua good at, for example? (Being small and annoying doesn’t count.) But you shouldn’t be so quick to lump bulldogs, another seemingly talentless breed, in with the chihuahuas.
