Feeling inspired by her 2-year-old great-grandson, a grandma has joined him on a trampoline for the first bounce of her life.
They say you’re never too old to try new things, but I don’t know how true that is. Watching the 84-year-old climb onto a trampoline for the first time did have me wondering if it may also be her last. But, feeling inspired and energized by her great-grandson’s energy, she decided to give it a try.
The video on TikTok shows the young boy flying around the caged trampoline. His youthful energy is contrasted with the older woman slowly making her way to join him. Carefully, she climbs in.
@m.quimby Sometimes I think we forget all the life this generation has experienced. The simple things like jumping on a trampoline didn’t happen for many of them. They live a simple and fulfilled life. One day our kids will see these videos and photos and understand how blessed they were and are to make these type of memories with their great grandparents. The genuine laughter of this video is why it’s one of our favorite videos to watch. #greatgrandparents #greatgrandma #memories #laughing #blessed ♬ These Memories – Hollow Coves
Assisted by her son, she is able to bend her knees and enjoy a few bounces as her grandson flies around her. For this grandma, it is the first time she has ever been able to use a trampoline. She’s a little too stiff and unsteady to be throwing backflips, but there is a heartwarming smile on her face.
Great Grandma Ticks Trampolines Off Bucket List
Grandma Clara is 84 years old and realised that there are many things she has never done. Now, she is determined to give them all a try. She isn’t letting her old bones hold her back, it appears. Despite her age, she was happy to have a bounce.
“As I’ve gotten older,” Clara told People, “I’ve realized there are a lot of things I never got to try, and I want to start saying yes to more of them. “This summer, I’m even planning to jump into a pool for the first time.”
The energy of her great-grandkids has inspired Grandma Clara to get out there and try new things. “Our family has always shared good times together, and the grandkids and great-grandkids give me that extra nudge to be brave, try new things, and just have fun,” she said.
Her two-year-old relative probably didn’t realise how special a moment he shared with his grandma on the trampoline was. The video will be one that can be treasured by the family as he grows.
