One baby girl decided that she was going to engage turbo mode during a crawling race at a WBNA game, and take her first steps.
The baby crawl at the Las Vegas Aces is a chance for parents to race their babies against one another. The half-time show is a great way to keep the hype going. At one end, a parent releases their baby; at the other, another parent or friend coaxes the baby over the finish line. First one to crawl over the line wins.
However, one baby girl leveled up halfway through the crawl and took her first wobbly steps on the basketball court. The spirit of competition compelled her, and she won the race by a country mile.
Sporting Spirit
The baby crawl is hardly the most competitive sport. Most of the little tiny people probably couldn’t focus their eyes well enough to even see the finish line. It’s all about parents having a little fun with their kids, and the audience having a coo over the funny little people.
But that didn’t stop this baby girl from storming the crawl race. Before she even stood up, she was already leagues ahead of the other babies. Halfway through the race, it seems like she finally spots her mom and makes her move.
In that hilarious wobbly way babies do, she pushed herself to her feet and threw out her arms to stabilize herself. Coming to terms with her vertical stance, she tried out her first steps. She’d graduated from a crawl race to a foot sprint.
Getting the hang of it, and rather impressively, she puts one foot in front of the other, and the crowd goes wild. The stadium erupts with cheers, and the line of parents at the finish all coax her on. These are, apparently, the first steps the baby has taken, and she’s killing it.
The baby eventually takes its first steps over the finish line, absolutely annihilating the baby crawl competition. Although she kind of broke the rules. “She’d been standing, but she hadn’t been walking,” the father mentioned in the footage. “She just randomly decided to stand up in the middle of the [court]. Oh my gosh. Was not expecting that.”
She’s born to be a baller.
