What do 99.9% of the most insane news stories you have ever read have in common. The headlines all begin with the following words: “Florida Man…”

The Sunshine State is, somehow, America’s epicenter for bizarre, deranged, unlawful, and, usually, hilarious activity at the hands of middle aged males. Whether you hear about a hospital robbed of its organ supply, a late night bender turning into an early morning hookup in the reptile cage of the local zoo, or a bad trip resulting a cannibalistic feeding frenzy, chances are this story came right out of Florida and the subject is a man.

How Florida happens to be the breeding ground of such unrelenting chaos remains a mystery but, for now, we can take advantage of a new fun online trend inspired by the phenomenon. Ironically, the volatile behavior of male Florida citizens has become the catalyst for, probably, the safest internet challenge in years!

To participate in the Florida Man Challenge, curious ones simply Google the words “Florida man” followed by their birth date. Whatever news headline from the provided date appears becomes that lucky participant’s associated “Florida Man” story.

The trend has been sweeping the nation’s remaining 49 states with people going to social media to share what ridiculous thing “Florida Man” did on their birthday. The results are as addictive as whatever substance these men were on at the time of their arrest:
