If you’re looking to get on the good side of the judge, wearing a ‘World’s Best farter’ t-shirt probably isn’t a great place to start.
In Texas courts, the law requires that a defendant should be wearing appropriate business attire. The felon defending himself in court clearly hadn’t gotten the memo. According to him, this was the only t-shirt he had available.
The judge clearly wasn’t impressed as he boldly walked out with the t-shirt sporting the words ‘World’s Best Farter’ emblazoned across the front. “That was the only shirt you had to wear in your closet?” she asked the defendant.
Realizing the joke had fallen flat on the stoney-faced judge, the Texas man mumbled an excuse into his chest. Asked to speak up, he tried to explain his odd choice of attire. He claimed that it was the only thing he could find to wear.
You would think, knowing he was about to turn up to court, he could have thrown something in the wash.
World’s Best Farter Becomes Court’s Biggest Mumbler
I’m not sure if the felon was hoping to garner a few laughs, or if he had actually nothing else available, but it didn’t work out well for him. His charges are unclear, but I expect they’re probably something to do with having a criminally bad dress sense.
The judge reprimanded him for inappropriate clothing in court. Felons are required to dress in something fitting for court. A t-shirt with ‘World’s Best Farter’ doesn’t exactly hit the smart and businesslike mark.
“You’re in felony court. You need to dress appropriately for felony court, and that’s not appropriate,” Jefferson County Judge Raquel West told the man. But, she wasn’t about to send him home for it. However, it did look like he wanted the ground to swallow him up.
She proceeded to ask him if he had managed to hire anyone. According to the embarrassed man, he had spoken to three lawyers. But none of them had gotten back to him. This probably hints at why he thought it was okay to turn up to court with such a stupid t-shirt on.
She gave him thirty days to find a lawyer and advised him to work hard at it.
