The screen has an impressive way of making people a lot taller than they are. People are often surprised, when meeting celebrities, that they’re much shorter in person. It’s quite underwhelming.
Tom Cruise
He may seem like a giant on the screen, running, jumping, and racing, but in fact, he’s really quite short. At 5 ft 7in, he is one of the smaller men in Hollywood. But he has a way around it. Wearing elevator shoes, the small action hero can boost himself up a few inches. This came in especially handy when marrying Nichole Kidman, who was an inch taller than him, without heels.
Lady Gaga
Don’t let her voice deceive you. This celebrity is much shorter than you may expect. But big things come in small packages, and Lady Gaga doesn’t let her 5 ft 1 in height take away from her vocal talents.
She often looks much bigger, in her huge elaborate outfits, and boisterous appearance. But really, Lady Gaga is a little lady with a big presence.
Kanye West
Kanye is the epitome of short man syndrome. The little hip hopper makes up for his small size by being an insufferable narcissist. Funny that he should be singing about another short, angry man recently, too. They have quite a lot in common, it seems.
There is a reason tall boots feature so heavily in Kanye’s clothing range.
Prince
Before Prince passed away, he was one of the biggest musicians in the world. But the international singing celebrity was probably much shorter than you realise. He was a man surrounded by mysticism and magic, and was hardly of this Earth. His height was such a sideline to his music and fantastic performance that it was often overlooked. But, in the flesh, Prince was only 5 ft 2 in!
Kourtney Kardashian
You would think, given how prone to body modifications the Kardashians are, that Kourtney would have had leg extensions or something. Her short height is often missed due to her love of heels, but she actually only comes in at 5 ft. She is one of the shortest on the list, and certainly the shortest in her insufferable family.
