If you’re looking to add a little extra risk to your day, grab yourself a Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink. Due to a label mix-up, there’s a chance you’ll end up sucking down a vodka-infused hard seltzer instead.
Once or twice in my life, I’ve mistakenly ordered a drink, thinking it to be soft, and found out too late that it was very hard. It usually results in a f**k it attitude, exacerbated by the alcohol, and I’ll just drink more.
But, if you’re driving to work, or about to hit the gym, and you pop what you think will be an energy drink, and all of a sudden find yourself sipping vodka, it could be problematic. Trying to PR a squat half cut could be either fatal or fantastic.
However, across the US, there are now cans of High Noon Hard Seltzer disguised as Celsius Astro Vibe Energy Drink. The label mix-up has affected two runs of 12 packs. One could be lurking in your local bodega.
What A Win
It’s like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, except it isn’t a golden ticket, it’s a can of booze, and it’s not the chocolate factory, it’s your local bar for more. I think I prefer the boozy alternative.
The winning alcoholic label mix-up cans were sent to Florida, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin. If you want to be in with a chance of winning, look here. According to High Noon, the label mix-up happened when “a shared packaging supplier mistakenly shipped empty Celsius cans to High Noon.”
So, if you’re not looking to get an unintentional buzz, make sure you’re taking a little sip of your energy drink before committing to a swig. As fun as it would be, sometimes you have to stay sober. It could take a long time for the label mix-up to be sorted.
High Noon is calling for a recall of the cans of Celsius Astro Vibe, but many people will undoubtedly miss the memo. There could be alcoholic energy drinks floating around stores for months. This boozy roulette is either a fantastic sales move or a careless mistake.
