Somehow, Jennifer Lopez managed to keep her cool while a cricket crawled up her dress, closer and closer to her face.
Most of us, when we feel even the slightest hint of a bug on our bodies, freak right out and start jumping around like we’re having a fit. Jennifer Lopez, though, managed to stay totally calm. She continued singing and elegantly swatted a cricket off, only inches from her face.
Footage of her show in the Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour in Almaty, Kazakhstan, was captured by a fan. As she sings the moving part of one of her songs, a cricket can be seen landing on Jennifer Lopez. It starts to make its way up from her waist.
It’s unclear if she feels it initially, but as she stands there, it gradually climbs her body. Without missing a beat, she continues singing, and the cricket continues climbing. Eventually, it reaches her neck.
Feeling the heat difference, the cricket taps and prods at Jennifer Lopez, just as she begins to sing the next notes. She holds her nerve as it climbs to the skin of her neck, and manages to finish the part of the song before grabbing it and, in one smooth move, throws it from her body.
Jennifer Lopez Keeps It Cool
Once she has grabbed the cricket and thrown it, Jennifer Lopez stylizes the movement to make it look like a part of the show. Nobody knew any better. She was somehow able not to lose her cool. The bug was only inches from her open, singing mouth.
Of course, her fans were impressed with the show of professionalism. The comments on the video are full of praise for the singer. “Didn’t even flinch! Professional level,” the comments say.
I like to think I am quite calm and hard to fluster. But, I don’t think I would have kept my cool as well as Jennifer Lopez with a cricket that close to my face. Like most people, I would have started the insane bug dance. I don’t think anyone would blame her if she did, too.
