There are a few places it’s incredibly inappropriate to bring a baby, and one of those is a concert.
During his show in Mexico City, singer Maluma stopped his show to call out a mother who had brought her baby to his show. It wasn’t because the baby was disturbing anyone, but rather that the show was possibly harming the baby.
The mom was quite close to the stage, and the decibels were high. As far as Colombian singer Maluma could see, the baby didn’t have the right ear protection for a concert either. After stopping the show briefly, he addressed the woman in the crowd.
“With all due respect… how old are they?” he began. “A year old? Less? A year. Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f****** high? Where the sound is this loud?”

“That is an act of irresponsibility. And you’re swinging him around as if he were a toy. That child doesn’t want to be there.” pic.twitter.com/ptxpcuuHzw
It appeared that the singer was concerned for more than just the hearing of the baby during the concert, too. The mother was having a time of it, and dancing about the crowd with her baby. Maluma has some bangers, and she was getting in the mood. But the Colombian star was worried about the child’s health.
Busting Out The Shaken Baby
Before continuing with the show, he had a bit more to say to the mom and her stressed baby. “Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility. You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real.”
As a father himself, Maluma felt more concerned for the baby. “I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware,” he continued.
It might have been a bit much to stop the whole concert to berate the mother about her baby, but the singer was concerned for the kid’s safety. It must have been incredibly embarrassing for the woman. However, if she can afford a ticket to her show, she should have been able to fork out for a babysitter, too.
