Every bride thinks her wedding is difficult. Whether it’s family drama, issues with the caterer, or a weather mishap, something inevitably goes wrong. But for Jobel de Los Angeles from the Philippines, she was worried her wedding was washed up in more ways than one.
However, flash flooding in the Bulacan province couldn’t prevent this bride from exchanging vows with her groom Jefferson on their special day. As you can see in the video from _The Guardian, _ Jobel and her parents waded through the storm waters to join her future husband at the altar.
Even though 24-year-old Jobel’s gown get wet and heavy with the monsoon rain from Tropical Storm Yagi, she wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of her love.
“Even if it floods or it rains, nothing can stop me. You only get married once, will you postpone it? I was marrying the man I love,” Delos Angeles explained to the AFP after the slightly unconventional ceremony. “My gown got wet and heavy but I told myself it was as if I was walking on a red carpet.”
Not only did the couple get married, they also baptized their five-month-old daughter during the ceremony in front of their guests, most of whom were barefoot.
