People who show their cats all the love in the world are some of the best of us. One cat mom in Texas has gone above and beyond by throwing her cat a quinceañera for its 15th birthday, complete with cake and a little tiny car.
When Miranda Gonzalez adopted her cat, named Holly Marie Gonzalez, at six months old, she always knew she was going to throw it a quinceañera. As she put it, “I always say, she doesn’t have a choice. She has to live that long for my mental wellbeing.”
And, lo and behold, Holly lived to a healthy fifteen. She lived long enough to see her cat mum get married and have two children. She’s an integral part of the family and treated as such. So when it was time for her big 15th birthday, a party was thrown.
The cat was more than used to a good party, so she was prepared. As the cat mum said, “She’s so chill. We have a lot of parties at my house, so she’s used to the loud music. I’ve done huge parties for my birthday, my kids’ birthdays, and my husband’s birthday. So she’s so used to it. And she loves getting attention from people.”
Cat Princess Has The Full Works For Her Quinceañera
Miranda spared no expense for her beloved cat on her big day. The guest list was drawn up, and people were told to make an event of it. “I told everybody, ‘Hey, make sure you’re dressed up in formal attire,” she told The Post.
When the big day came around, the special lady was treated like a princess. She turned up in a little cat-sized car, and she had two beautiful gowns for the occasion. The day had floral arrangements, cakes, and music. It was a real show for the most beloved kitty.
Holly the cat is more than just a spoiled pet, though. For Miranda, she has been a companion and support throughout her life. “This is my soul cat. I don’t know how I would’ve gotten through life without her. She’s been there since I was 18 years old. She’s seen me through before kids, during kids. I’m autoimmune, so she’s seen me through sickness. I’m her person, so she’s my person. She’s attached to my hip,” she said.
The event was simply an excuse for Mirande to show her appreciation to a feline friend who had been there throughout it all.
