Reunions are always beautiful things to witness. A veteran made it a side quest of his travels to try and link back up with a fellow service member from back in the 70’s, and he succeeded.
As John travelled across the US, he searched the records for someone with his fellow veteran’s name: Art. When he finally reached Toledo, Texas, he struck gold. Knocking on Art’s door, none other than his daughter opened up.
Explaining his quest to her, she confirmed that, actually, he might have finally found what he was looking for. The whole thing was caught on a Ring doorbell, and through the wonders of modern technology, they were able to talk to each other.
Art came to the doorbell camera and was able to finally see John, his fellow veteran, for the first time in 40 years. “My folks answered a Ring video doorbell call, and it was from a man who has been looking for my dad for the last 40 years since they were both stationed together in the Army in the late ’70s,” his daughter recalled.
He wasn’t home, however, he was out visiting his other daughter. “His friend had been looking up every person with my dad’s name in his travels across the country. My dad wasn’t home, but the video doorbell did its job,” she said of the quest the veteran had been on for a chance to reunite.
Long-Awaited Reunion For Veteran Buddies
They had missed each other that day, but all hope wasn’t lost for a proper face-to-face meeting. Art gave John his other daughter’s address, and they arranged to meet up. “They were able to meet and catch up after all those years at my sister’s house,” his daughter recalled.
They finally met and introduced their wives to one another. The handshake they initially shared melted into a hug. Finally, the two men went inside to reminisce on their old army days. Over forty years had passed between the two of them. I am sure they had a lifetime of things to catch up on.
