Dropping something as small as a wedding ring in a reservoir is usually the end for it, but a diver has managed to recover the priceless jewelry, to the delight of the owner.
The wedding ring in question was lost in Possum Kingdom Lake in Palo Pinto County. While out on a trip with her son’s baseball team, JackO’Lynn Page dropped it. The large, diamond-encrusted ring was worth plenty and a family heirloom.
She had no idea where she had lost it throughout the day. Initially, she and the boys hunted the path they had taken and the area they were in. Everyone, including other people on the trip, helped her search.
But after the hunt was completed, she determined that it was in the water, and so she called in a diver to search for the wedding ring. She contacted the Blue Diver Search and Recovery and begged them to help her locate her family heirloom
Despite the murky waters and a large 100-by-50-foot area, they were up for the challenge. Diver Ryan Prigmore got to work, searching beneath the waves.
Diver Defeats Danger For Wedding Ring Win
The diver started immediately, searching for her wedding ring on Friday. Despite their help, Page was almost certain she would never see the ring again. It’s a small ring in a large, dirty reservoir.
The first day, the conditions were far from favorable. Waves hammered at the diver and made the hunt much more difficult. “I was getting thrashed by the waves, but I gave my word that I would be back to keep trying,” he told Fox 4.
But, not one to give up easily, he returned the next day when the water was much calmer. Throughout the day, he searched, regularly updating Page on his progress. Just as she had given up hope, the keen-eyed underwater treasure hunter struck gold, or diamond.
“I am so thankful for him! He didn’t give up on it. I had been preparing myself for the last few days that it was lost, and I wouldn’t see it again. My ring is so special to me, and I had no idea how I’d get over this. I’m over the moon knowing it’s coming home to me!” she shared on Facebook.
