When it comes to getting married to conjoined twins, it appears it isn’t a buy one, get one free type deal. Instead, they come as a sort of separate package.
Carmen Andrade, one-half of the Andrade twins, revealed that she got married to her long-time boyfriend in secret. Although really, it wasn’t that secret. Her twin was obviously there. However, the ceremony was a quiet one with just a small collection of family members.
Carmen is very open about her life as a conjoined twin, but chose to keep her plan to be married secret. Her husband briefly appeared in the video to explain that he wasn’t a big fan of large weddings. Carmen, too, is particularly shy and didn’t want a big event.
Their video drops the news right at the end, with Carmen announcing that she got married, and Lupita confirming that she did not. Despite being conjoined twins, they are still separate people, only sharing everything below the torso.
Living With Your In-Laws
How the whole relationship works with the sister being attached to his new wife is something I would never deign to ask, but I am sure they figure it out. Lupita says she has no interest in marriage or a relationship. She says she is asexual and aromantic. It must be a wildly complicated situation to work out.
But now one of the twins is married, and they will, I presume, live a married life. Lupita, attached to the newlyweds, will have to find her way to stay uninvolved with the situation. For the sake of her conjoined twin, perhaps, the newly married couple aren’t intimate ‘in that way’. However, she will still have to sit through those gross honeymoon whispered sweet nothings.
Carmen has been with her now husband for almost five years before the marriage, so it was only a matter of time for the conjoined twins. They finally tied the knot and turned the duo into a trio.
His marital squabbles are going to be twice as hard, but that’s the life he signed up for. You can’t ever really just have one half of the conjoined twins.
