Two spots in the UK have been inundated with tributes to Ozzy Osbourne, with flowers, posters, trinkets, and memorabilia being left for the prince of darkness. The local council has come up with a fantastic use for the wilting flowers, too.
In Birmingham, the Black Sabbath Bridge and Navigation Street Mural have been covered in tributes left by people paying their respect to Ozzy Osbourne. The streets were filled with people’s beloved items and memories.
The council has respectfully removed them all from the locations and is treating them with an unexpected reverence. Rather than scrap them, they are not only keeping the ones that won’t spoil, but also cataloging them all.
The flowers that have been left for Ozzy Osbourne will, of course, eventually wilt. But the Birmingham council isn’t going to let them go to waste. Instead, the floral tributes will be mulched and used to fertilize the final resting place of the rock legend.
Uncharacteristically Clever UK Council
The Birmingham council released a video letting the public know what was happening with their tributes to Ozzy Osbourne. “After we carefully moved all items from the Black Sabbath Bridge and Navigation St Mural to a secret location, they have been sorted by our team, ready to be sent to the Osbourne family. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to pay their respects,” they said.
The nonperishable items are being stored and will eventually be sent to the family. “Every piece is being laid out individually, cataloged, and treated with care,” they say over the video. “Our team has been working to respectfully sort the items, ensuring they’re preserved in the best possible condition.”
And, the floral tributes to Ozzy Osbourne will eventually bring more life to his final resting place. He will be laid to rest in his Buckinghamshire mansion and estate. He invested his money well and was living in a 125-year-old, Grade II-listed mansion that sprawls across 350 acres before his death.
This will provide the perfect, idyllic, private resting place for Ozzy. It will be a field of flowers and fertile land after the flowers left at his memorials are mulched.
