A collection of erotic bedroom toys were mistaken for a bomb last week at Berlin’s Schönefeld Airport, causing part of the airport to close.
During routine X-ray scans of baggage, airport security spotted what they considered “suspicious content in a luggage piece,” said German federal police in Berlin. It was initially unclear what the items were, which caused the panic and an hour-long investigation which included a bomb squad!
The bag’s owner was summoned over the airport’s loudspeaker and interviewed by police about his luggage. At first, he didn’t want to explain what was in his bag, initially claiming it contained, “technical stuff.”
Whether it was due to embarrassment or a fear of criminal charges, he wouldn’t explain what was the contents of his baggage.
After an hour-long search, the authorities determined the “suspicious” content was several adult toys.
