Nothing runs as deep as a family grudge, as one sister found out when her brother refused to do her a favor after refusing to care for his dog years before.
Some of the things I have seen going on between siblings are beyond petty. They say elephants never forget, but families could put even the wisest to shame. A man, posting to Reddit for advice, has only proven this point.
The guy loves his elderly dog with all his heart. It’s his world, and he loves it. However, at one point, he needed to take a trip, and he asked his sister to take care of the old dog. But, despite her kids being excited about the prospect, and the dog hardly being a handful, she refused.
“I offered for her to come over or for her older kids to stay over. I offered to bring my dog over to their place or even for them to just come over twice a day to walk her and to refill her food and water,” he explained. He tried his best to make it as easy for her as he could.
But his sister refused to take care of the dog, and years later, when she needed help, he got his petty revenge.
One Bad Turn Deserves Another
Recently, his sister approached him with a favor. She wanted to go on holiday with her husband, and asked her brother if he could take care of the kids. Now, taking care of two kids is a lot more work than an elderly dog, so he took revenge.
“She wasn’t willing to take care of my dog when I needed her, so why would I agree to take care of her children?” Continuing, he stuck to his guns. “I told her no, I have my dog as well, and she needs care too, and she was being condescending and hypocritical.”
As a result, there has been a lasting animosity between the two siblings. Rather than be the bigger man, he took revenge for leaving his elderly dog to be put in a care home. Sibling rivalries are the most pathetic things.
