I am always shocked when people have time to premeditate a murder, and they do it in the most unimaginative and incompetent way. Due to her bad planning, a mom has been charged with luring her husband to a remote location and shooting him to death.
The plan was a bad one from the start. Matthew and Kathryn’s relationship was on the rocks. They weren’t the loved-up couple they once were. But Kathryn offered Matthew an olive branch. She lured her husband into a murder with a promise of reconciliation.
Matthew was already concerned when he noticed that his wife had gone on a trip using the family truck with his kids. However, when she called him offering reconciliation and asking for a lift home, he couldn’t resist. He drove from his home in California to American Fork, Utah.
He was told that he was free to walk into the home to pick up the family. But, only death awaited him.

When Matthew arrived at the residence, he was shot to death by Kathryn’s brother. They called the police and reported that her husband had broken in and threatened him before the Utah mom killed him. However, there are a few things that simply don’t add up for the police investigation.
A knife was found in Matthew’s hand where he lay, shot to death by his brother-in-law. However, it didn’t look quite right. Matthew was left-handed, and the knife, placed the wrong way round, was also in the right hand. According to the report, the bullet was also centered on the right wrist.
The Utah mom did call the police after shooting her husband to death. But the report had already come in from a neighbour who heard the commotion. This implies that they waited some time before calling the police.
To make matters worse, the mother of Kathryn had also covered the couch with plastic sheeting, preparing for a messy murder. It can’t get more obvious than that. They even put splash sheets down.
It was also revealed that Matthew had a tracking chip planted in his truck so they could be prepared for his arrival. The whole thing was a mess, and as a result, this Utah mom is facing charges for murdering her husband.
She has pleaded guilty to a reduced count of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Her mother and brother, also involved, have both been charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, obstruction of justice, and two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child.
