There has been a spate of high-profile burglaries in the US of late. It makes sense, though. It’s easier than ever to find out the locations of the rich and famous, and breaking and entering isn’t much of a struggle for professionals.
Keanu Reeves, who has a renowned luxury watch collection, had his house broken into during a number of robberies in 2023. The suspects were thought to be Chilean, and a notice was handed to the Chilean government.
During a series of raids on suspects, Chilean authorities turned up a number of stolen items. Among these were the watches stolen from Keanu Reeves. They have since been returned. The watches were valued at $125,000 and included a luxury Rolex.
High Profile Raid Returns Rolex To Reeves
The FBI worked alongside the Cheliean authorities to crack down on the thieves who stole Keanu Reeves’ watches and other celebrities’ belongings. According to AP news, 23 people have already been arrested in relation to the break-ins. They were rounded up in the Chilean capital of Santiago.
Reeves was able to identify the watches on sight. The Rolex, valued at around $10,000, was personally engraved. Along with his collection were found numerous other items the gang had managed to pilfer. These included stolen cars, iPhones, luxury watches, and designer purses.
They will all have to be taken in as evidence and eventually returned to their rightful owners. There were many famous US people involved in the thefts, including Travis Kelce, the famed football star.
Funnily enough, someone directly related to foreign affairs was also a victim of the Chilean thieves. The Trump administration’s Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, was also stolen from. She had a luxury purse taken, in a barefaced F-You to her and her authority.
