Residents of California’s San Bernardino County were horrified to see what appeared to be a teddy bear made of human skin sitting outside a convenience store.
The bear gave people a real fright. The patchwork skin job made the bear look like it had been stitched together with flesh. It has a human nose and even an empty eye socket. It looks like the creation of a psychopath. Nobody wanted to get too close, so they called local police.
The police were equally disturbed by the human skin teddy bear. With caution, they approached it and found it only to appear to be as grotesque as it looked. It wasn’t real, but it certainly had people fooled. An investigation was launched to see who the prankster was.
Eventually, someone identified the human skin teddy bear as the creation of Dark Seed Creations. They’re known for making realistic, macabre, lifelike models.

The Etsy seller specialises in grotesque models and statues. They make everything from hats made of human faces to fetal skeletons in photo frames. Their work is masterful, and without close inspection, they look real.
It wasn’t the creator who left the human skin teddy bear outside the Cali store. But, it was a fantastic advertisement for anyone looking to get themselves some grizzly merch. Recently, they spoke out on Facebook about the prank.
“Yes I made the bear in the news video. Yes that’s my Etsy shop screenshotted on [the] news articles.” Continuing, they confirmed it was sold. “Yes I did ship that bear to an etsy customer in Victorville CA last week. Yes you can still order one too. No I did not have any knowledge of the buyers intentions nor was I involved in a prank on the other side of the nation from me.”
The prank was a harmless one, but very gross. The human skin teddy bear certainly had people fooled for quite some time. I expect most people won’t want something like that in their house. But, as a powerful advertisement for the shocking nature of their work, it’s perfect.
The 23-year-old man was reported by VVNG to have been arrested. He was charged with causing the report of an emergency while knowing it to be false and intentionally and wrongfully planting evidence to falsely present as real.
I’m not much of a teddy bear guy. The human skin bikini does look rather nice.
