Most baby showers are pretty cliche events with blue for a boy and pink for a girl, flowers and bonnets, and all that crap. But a paranormal investigator has taken it a step in the spooky direction and opted for a haunted baby shower instead.
Beckie-Ann Galentin shared her spooky baby shower on TikTok. She’s a paranormal investigator, so she considers herself well aligned with the spirits. She nailed the horror theme too, with everything from Ouiji boards to haunted doll scavenger hunts.
The baby shower was held in a hotel that was once a hospital, so it even had a morgue to hold a seance in. “My day-to-day life is very engulfed in the paranormal and everything, so I saw it — and not everyone saw it this way — but I saw it as a way to connect with ancestors and people who came before us,” she told People.
The decor for the baby shower was as haunted as it could be. To even get into the event, guests had to sign a waiver in case they became possessed. The games included candy jars full of ectoplasm and haunted doll hunts. The winner received an ouiji board. Even the food was spooky, with a haunted cake and a charcuterie board in a coffin.
A Spiritual Situation
Although a haunted baby shower may seem a little macabre, the reasons behind it are actually quite nice. Rather than being a spooky, horror-filled, ghoul fest, the event was intended to be a nod to past and present spirits. After all, she plans to bring a new one into the world.
“Bringing new life into this world is kind of like connecting you to all of the people who walk the same path before you for hundreds of years. That’s kind of where the theme came from. It was rooted in spirit communication and history.”
Not many people online agreed, though. There were a lot of folk saying she was cursing her baby before it was even born. But, as she pointed out, those people don’t understand the paranormal the way she does. Her haunted baby shower wasn’t going to harm her baby. It was just a bit of fun for her like-minded paranormal investigators.
