The average fan may not know this, but Jack Black has talents beyond the big screen. The actor doubles as a rock and roll musician, as he showcased in his blockbuster films School of Rock and Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny, but these movies are far from the pinnacle of his enchanting skills.
Black is currently on tour with his long time friend and Tenacious D partner, Kyle Gass. The two recently played at Lollapalooza in Chicago, and then moved their way South to Nashville, Tennessee. Before blazing the stage in Music City, they put some free time to good use, and went to record some new tunes at a new friend’s house.
Jack White, former lead singer of The White Stripes, had the pair over to his Nashville mansion, fully equipped with anything a musician could need to conceptualize a smash hit. Jack Black and Jack White have finally come together, forming a new rock super-group, Jack Gray.
Jack Black believes they have a "stone-cold jam" on their hands, stating “I think our song is the kickin’ chicken.”
Unfortunately, cameras were not allowed inside the recording studio, and no sneak-peaks have been released. Jack Gray is still an underground entity waiting to be unleashed, so lookout for them in the coming months on streaming services worldwide.
