Too much of a good thing is bad for you. A woman in Brazil noticed her breasts were growing exponentially, eventually leading to her being unable to move, and living in constant pain.
Thaynara Marcondes noticed her breasts starting to grow much faster than usual at the age of 22. It seemed like every week they had gained a cup size, and they were showing no signs of stopping. Originally, the woman was able to wear medium shirts, but as her body began to change, she was soon left with few options.
Over a month, her breasts would gain an additional 750 grams. Within almost no time she was left unable to even wear a bra. But, intiallaly she didn’t know anything was wrong. “I started going out on the street and people were staring and pointing,” she told CNN Brazil. “Once I went to the supermarket and people even started to think I was stealing products and hiding them in my breasts. Then I got worried.”
As they became bigger and bigger, her breasts started to effect her health. “It really bothers me. It’s hard to cut my toenails, put on my sneakers,” she said in a social media post. “I can’t run, and I stopped going to the gym because of my back.”
Crowd Funded Boob Job
It quickly became clear that Mercondes 26 pound breasts needed to be taken care of. They were adversely effecting her life, and causing her a lot of pain. However, the procedure isn’t free. So, she went online, and started sharing her story.
A visit to the doctor revealed that she had a very rare condition known as gigantomastia. There have been very few cases recorded. This causes the breasts to grow uncontrollably, sometimes getting to a huge size even faster than hers had.
Soon, people came forward to help her pay for the breast reductoin she needed to live a more normal life. A total of $7,200 was raised and she was able to undergo breat reducton surgery. The very next day she was discharged after having 22 pounds removed.
Now, she is able to live a much more comfortable life with significantly reduced breasts. “I look in the mirror all the time and think, ‘Wow, I look so beautiful!’” she gushed to the outlet. “Sometimes I even cry looking at myself because I still can’t believe I did it.”
