Does wearing a hospital gown count as underdressing or overdressing at a wedding?
On her way to a wedding rehearsal, Anna Southerland was involved in a car wreck. Speaking to Newsweek about the shocking situation, she said, “We were turning left and we had the green light when another car blew through their red light, probably going 60 or more, and hit us on the driver’s side.”
Thankfully, the blow was a glancing one. Due to the quick responses of the driver, most of the impact was taken by the front of their car. However, the accident left them all shaken and in need of a trip to the hospital.
Here, they were all checked, and it appeared the only casualty of the car wreck was Anna’s wedding rehearsal dress. It was ruined, and the only thing she had to wear was the hospital gown she had been given after the accident. So, that’s what she went with.
It’ll Be Alright On The Night
Thankfully, it was only a wedding rehearsal, and the bride-to-be knew her friend would show up in a hospital gown. According to Anna, the bride “was so great about it,” she told Newsweek. “She just wanted her friends to be ok. She stood up and cheered for us when we walked in.”
It must have been heartwarming for the bride to know she had friends who, hell or high water, would make it to even her wedding rehearsal. I would do a lot for a free meal, too. A wedding rehearsal is always a good time, with the chance to meet other guests and have a sit-down before the big day.
Anna and her fellow guests only made it for the end of the rehearsal. However, the gesture didn’t go unappreciated by the bride. “Not the best start, but we are gonna kill this wedding,” Southland commented on her TikTok post.
Hopefully, she finds something a little nicer to wear than a hospital gown at the actual wedding. Although, as one person pointed out in the comments, she was wearing the most expensive dress in the room.
