Harry Potter star Emma Watson isn’t the goody goody she appeared to be as her role as Hermione Granger, as she racks up enough points to get banned from driving.
Her driving ban came as a result of multiple infractions in the last few years. The latest for the Harry Potter star made it four in two years, and she has received a driving ban for at least 12 months. She has been repeatedly caught breaking the law in her car.
The latest offense was driving at 38 in a 30 zone. The speeding ticket demanded a court appearance. Here she was slapped with £1,044 in fines. This includes a £660 fine for a guilty plea, a £264 surcharge, and a £120 cost. She won’t be wizarding her way out of this one.
It’s not hard to rack up points in the UK, though. There are few drivers out there without them. Anything from speeding in a ‘variable speed’ area, to simply driving through certain parts of cities, is a crime. The UK is particularly anti-car, but without any viable alternative.
The driving ban isn’t a huge deal for the Harry Potter star. She still has her broomstick to fly about on.

Coincidentally, Emma Watson will have bumped into another of the Harry Potter stars as she received her driving ban. Just minutes after she left the court, Zoe Wanamaker, AKA Madam Hooch, entered the room. She, too, was about to get banned from driving after racking up enough points.
It appears there must have been something in the Butterbeer this year that’s got them all driving like they have a Voldemort on their tail or something. They’ll all be reduced to using the spooky night bus because even Harry Potter stars can’t afford the train in the UK.
A driving ban will usually last from six to twelve months. In a place like England, it can be very debilitating. We have tragically bad public transport, and if you live in the countryside, a driving ban is essentially house arrest.
