Whether you’re looking to cover your tracks or you’re trying to find out if your partner is cheating, there is a tell that many people forget about when having your cake and eating it, too.
Cheating is more common than most of us like to admit. Whether it’s a single slip-up or a decades-long affair, a staggering 71% of Americans have admitted to cheating on their partner. That’s why, whether it’s hiding your infidelity or discovering someone else’s, knowing the signs is imperative.
Often, it’s obvious. All of a sudden, your partner is taking care of their looks more, spending more time apart from you, or comes home stinking of someone else’s perfume. They’re texting way more and have less interest in intimacy. These are usually signs that your partner is cheating.
But, according to one private investigator, there are other signs we often forget about. In an age when we gamify anything and collect data on everything we do, sometimes it can be incredibly telling. For one woman, it was her partner’s toothbrush data that revealed his cheating.
Betrayed By The Data
The woman had gotten her hands on some kind of ‘Smart Toothbrush’ that tracked when her kids brushed their teeth. It was so she could tell that they were really giving those mouth bones a polish twice a day. What was wrong with spending two minutes in the bathroom with them is anyone’s guess.
Either way, her hubby had one too. “Over time, the client noticed their partner’s brushing history was being logged at odd times, times when they were supposedly at work,” the private investigator explained.
“The client couldn’t work out why the app was showing that the husband was brushing his teeth later in the morning on a Friday when he should have been in work.” She put two and two together and did a bit of digging.
For three months, he hadn’t been in the office on a Friday. Instead, he was freshening up and giving his mistress a little bit of lovin’. Betrayed by his own toothbrush. What has the world come to when you can’t even trust your own toothbrush not to snitch?
If you’re planning on cheating, leave your smart watch, smart bottle, smart fridge, and government vaccine tracking chips at home.
