Plane bathrooms are notorious for illicit goings on, but usually it’s the passengers getting up to naughty activities.
The staff on board the British Airways Airbus A380 flying from San Francisco to London were confused when one flight attendant didn’t show up for dinner service. A quick search, however, revealed where they were.
Hidden in the bathroom of the Club World cabin, the unnamed flight attendant was on a bender. They had taken their clothes off and were having a private party in the spacious toilet. There was little chance they were going to continue their shift.
The staff tried their best to hide the staff members’ shame from the passengers. Still boogying away, they dressed them in BA pajamas and brought them to a seat. However, whatever the flight attendant was on hadn’t worn off, and they needed to be tied down.
Pill-Popping Flight Attendant
It’s not uncommon for flight attendants to get a bit crazy on layovers. There have been numerous cases of staff turning up to work still on the sauce after a heavy night out. But, if you haven’t come down from drugs yet, it’s probably a good idea to pull a sick day rather than a private bathroom party.
Speaking to the New York Post, one of the flight attendants commented on their co-worker’s behaviour. “The plane was cruising at 37,000 ft over the Atlantic, but this bloke seemed to be higher than anyone else,” they said. “We think the guy popped pills when he was meant to be working. It is an extraordinary thing to do.”
There is a time and a place to take drugs, and just before a huge intercontinental flight is not it. Well, not if you’re supposed to be working anyway.
The flight attendant was taken from the bathroom and tied down to a seat. Here they remained for the rest of the ten and a half hour flight. When they landed at Heathrow, police and medical staff were waiting.
The partying flight attendant was wheeled off in a chair and, unsurprisingly, suspended. It’s certainly a wild way to get fired from a job. Getting high at the highest.
