According to a local news outlet, the video uploaded to Instagram by Sohila Tarek Hassan Haggag, showed the belly dancer “using seductive techniques.” Due to her super sultry movements, the powers that be in Egypt felt an unreligious stirring in their loins.
Rather than turning the video off, they watched it repeatedly, until they were worked into a horny froth. Knowing they would never be able to be with such a woman, they decided that they would imprison her instead. If you can’t have them, jail them.
The illegally sexy belly dancer is a naturalised Italian citizen. However, she was born in Egypt and still holds Egyptian citizenship. She was arrested at Cairo airport. She marks the fifth belly dancer arrested under President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

According to the investigators, the Egyptian belly dancer was arrested because she was “in indecent clothing, deliberately exposing sensitive areas of the body, in blatant violation of social values.” Egypt has imposed strict laws on women’s bodies, no longer allowing them to appear human or sensual.
This crackdown on women is an attempt to undermine women’s abilities to earn money online and police their bodies. In the past, there have been many women who have been detained for up to 10 years for their online activities.
The belly dancer arrested recently, who goes by the name of Linda Martino, is supposed to remain in prison for another two weeks. However, the Italian embassy in Cairo is hoping to have her released before this time.
In the report for her arrest, they state the belly dancer “used seductive techniques and provocative dances to incite vice.” This is an admission that the men watching her found her irresistibly attractive. Their arousal at her dancing is considered a crime. It’s a weird kink, for sure.
