There have always been ways in which people will go above and beyond to catch the eye of a possible suitor. Now, according to Nicole on TikTok, women are stealing techbros lunches to get a chance for a date. A little cute, a little creepy.
Apparently, the ploy is that they will go into an office and steal the lunch of someone working there. They will then use the name on the lunch to find them on LinkedIn and drop them a message. They will say something like, “Oh, I am so sorry, I must have picked up your lunch by mistake, let me buy you one in return.”
This way, hopefully, the woman will land themselves a date with a guy working in tech. She will have to be the one to buy lunch, but at least she might find her future husband. I’m not sure how true this is, or if it’s just something she does, and is trying to make it sound normal, but it’s certainly a sign of desperation from the ladies.
Swiping Killed The Seduction
These days, it’s more common than not for people to have met one another through a dating app. The idea of approaching someone on the streets or in a bar is seen as unusual, and in some cases, predatory.

People have become so used to only finding a date online that our face-to-face woman-to-man interaction skills have gone to the dogs. People are afraid of rejection in real life. On a dating app, it’s fine, and there are plenty more out there.
Actually approaching someone to drop them a compliment or try out a chat-up line is a dying art. “Why can’t they just come up to us at a bar?” the desperate TikTokker moaned. “Why is it getting to this point?”
As a society, we have moved to app dating because it’s easier. There is little risk, there is no fear of rejection, and it can be done while sitting on the toilet. But, it’s so soulless. Algorithmic slop and passionless text conversations just aren’t it. And look what’s happened. Now, innocent men working in their offices are having their lunches stolen just so women may have a shot at a date.
