If you bought someone a lotto ticket as a gift, and they won big, would you want at least a cut of the prize?
Vanesa Menijvar Acosta was given a gift of a lotto ticket by her father. After using the ticket, she found that she had netted herself a massive $2 million prize. This is a huge win and has set her up for life. This marks the first $2 million win for the $25,000,000 Mega Money for the Georgia lotto.
Her father has given her the best gift he could with that amount of money. She will be able to do all sorts of things with it, with a whole young life to spend it. She has chosen to take the payment in one large lump cash sum.
This will come as $1.3 million before tax. She should be left with around a million dollars in the end. That amount of money will be the perfect foundation for a life of education and comfort, at least for a while.
Young Woman has Plans For Huge Lotto Win
Her plans for the lotto win are quite sensible. According to a statement by the Massachusetts Lottery officials, she plans to buy a house and put herself through college. In this day and age, that will mean she can afford a small studio, and only be left with mildly crippling debt after her education.
I hope she plans to at least treat her dad a little for buying her a winning lotto ticket.
There are still a number of other $2 million prizes to be won with the $25,000,000 Mega Money ticket. Three more people can win the massive grand prize of 24 million. There are also three more 2 million prizes to be won for anyone trying their luck.
I would be forever grateful to anyone who happened to buy me a winning lotto ticket. Even if it was just a couple of bucks, the feeling would be great. However, I would feel at least slightly inclined to share the amount with them. Of course, it was a gift, but it only feels fair.
