You’ve heard of a bull in a china shop, but what about a rhino at a wedding?
Rhinos, being as big and solidly built as they are, are typically unfazed by most things going on around them. Usually, they will keep their distance from populated areas, but in this case, the rhino decided to pay a wedding a visit.
The beautiful affair, with everyone dressed up in the Nepalese wedding finery, was, of course, being filmed. The arrival of the rhino wasn’t planned. This wasn’t some dove release or horse and carriage situation.
The cameraman, knowing their job, quietly follows behind the enormous beast as it calmly enters the wedding. It doesn’t head into the middle of the throng, but casually takes a look and walks around the edge of the area. The guests, rather than losing their minds, watch the massive rhino as it pays its respects to the wedding couple.
The happy day was happening in Chitwan, which is known for its close relationship with the huge, peaceful animals. I imagine the arrival of a rhino at the wedding, although alarming, was quite a good omen. Especially considering nobody got hurt. “Rhinos are the vahan of lord Vishnu! The marriage is truly blessed,” one commenter added.
Peaceful Rhino Wedding Guest Graced The Happy Couple
The majority of Nepal’s one-horned rhinos are actually found in the Chitwan National Park, close to where this wedding happened. They are an important part of the culture and a point of pride for the folks who live there. Even their cricket team is named after the rhino.
The bride and groom will certainly remember the highlight of their wedding, being paid a visit by such a beautiful animal.
These big, peaceful animals are rarely a threat to people. They are heavy, slow-moving herbivores with little interest in causing a ruckus. This peaceful rhino probably just wanted to know what all those beautiful smells and sounds were.
Really, it should have headed in and seen what the buffet had on offer.
