This engagement totally sucked.

For Paige Berdomas and Bryce Shelton, their shared interest is pretty extreme. The pair are avid storm chasers and are reasonably well known online for their hobby. Together, they find the huge twisters and storms that rip across the US landscape, and marvel at the devastating forces of nature.

So, it made perfect sense for them to get engaged doing what they love, watching a huge twister. The footage was originally spotted by fellow storm streamer Max Velocity as he streamed the storm in South Dakota.

The especially huge twister was being streamed by Paige Berdomas and watched by the YouTuber. What neither of them expected, though, was for Paige to become engaged as the twister twisted. In the bottom corner of the screen, Shelton can be seen getting down on one knee.

The initial proposal couldn’t be seen all too well, but Shelton wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to snap the hardest engagement photos ever. Later, on both of their social media pages, the magnitude of the twister and proposal could be seen.

Best Proposal Photos Of All Time

As the huge funnel of swirling air pulled the landscape of South Dakota apart, Shelton got down on one knee. No doubt screaming over the twister only miles away, he popped the big question. Armed with good cameras and better timing, they snapped the moment they got engaged in front of the twister.

The picture is so good, it looks like it could have been made with AI. But it’s all real. Shelton made sure to bring along his photography buddy to snap the special moment for the storm chasing lovers.

As one person pointed out, the only way to one-up a twister engagement is in front of an erupting volcano. I don’t know if extreme engagements are a thing, but it should be.

It’s certainly a stormy start to their marriage, but hopefully the rest of it is clear skies and calm waters. Let them leave the twisters to nature.
