Gen Z kids have officially taken “being neighborly” to whole new level. While they still don’t look up from their phones while physically passing their neighbor on the street, they are apparently sending out random texts to their “number neighbor.”
Twitter users gladly jumped on the newest trend spreading through the internet and started sending text messages to their ‘number neighbors’ — those people whose phone number’s last digit is off from theirs by one. Either up or down. So if my phone number were 123, my ‘number neighbors’ would be 122 and 124. This has led to a plethora of meme worthy content. Take a look at some of the most hilarious reactions we’ve come across.

I’m not sure if I’m more entertained by how funny these get or more concerned for the social future of this generation.
Either way, the Number Neighbor game is here and I’m almost insulted that I didn’t think of the more appropriate name that @notviking proposed. It’s genius! How do you feel about the Number Neighbor game? Have You received a text yet?
