It seems like a lot of celebrity stories we hear are about the mean, the rude, and the crude. Things like: actor X is going to rehab, singer Y is extremely rude to wait staff, actress Z got kicked off an airplane for being drunk and loud.
But here are some celeb-fan interactions that will make you smile, or even tear up, because of how positive and heartwarming they are.
1. Robin Williams defuses an argument with humor, then gives solid life advice
I went to a dinner with my father and a couple of his co-workers at a fancy Italian restaurant when I was about 18 and about halfway through the meal a few of the co-workers got drunk and started to scream at the waiter in Italian.
In response the waiter, and eventually a few other workers, joined in and were screaming back at the co-workers and then in between all of them came Robin Williams gesticulating wildly and screaming mock Italian at both sides until they calmed the hell down and started to laugh at Robin Williams and his antics instead.
When everyone went back to their seats I walked up to Robin Williams, thanked him for defusing the situation, and did the usual “I love your work, It’s amazing to meet you” spiel and then he began to ask ME questions about my life, how I am, my age, what I wanted to do and was very friendly and caring.
When I was walking away back to my dad he stopped me and said words I try to live by, “Kid, take a good look at those suits. Don’t try to end up like them. If you need booze or drugs to enjoy your life to the fullest then you’re doing it wrong.”

2. Arnold Schwarzenegger gets puked on, takes it pretty well
Once, I threw up on Arnold Schwarzenegger’s foot outside a restaurant. I expected him to go all Terminator on me. Instead, his response was an immediate: “It’s ok kid, I throw up every time I eat here too.”
His wife then proceeded to run inside and grab me water and a bit of bread to settle my stomach. They were both incredibly nice about it all.

3. Bruce Willis is impressed by mathematics, plays a little game with coffee-shop clerk
It was about 8pm, and I remember it being either November or December, mostly because of all the snow. The coffee shop closed at 9, and I was doing some cleaning ahead of time so I could get out of work at a decent hour.
A man walked in, the ball cap on his head pulled down to cover his eyes, and his head down against the biting wind blowing in from the mountains. I greeted him, and when he looked up, I recognized him. I was told to act normal when a celebrity walks in, as they justifiably don’t like being mobbed by fans out here.
I took his order, which I remember as 2 small lattes. He was alone, so I assumed he was in town with his wife and she was either at their vacation home or shopping at one of the many expensive shops there. The total came to $6.47 (It’s funny: I can’t remember what I had for breakfast, but I remember the total of Bruce Willis’ coffee order from 6 years ago).
Growing up the son of an accountant with a strong desire (borderline obsessive sometimes) to gain my father’s approval, I learned to do change in my head at lightning speed.
Less than 2 seconds after seeing the $50 he was about to hand me, I told him his change would be $43.53. He paused, a little smirk on his face.
BW: Did you do that in your head? Me: Yes sir.
Bruce then puts the $50 back in his wallet and pulls out a $20 bill, two $1 bills, and three quarters, totaling $22.75 and asks me what the change is. I tell him $16.47.
He proceeds to repeat this a few more times with different combinations of cash he has on him. I don’t know if some combination of fatigue and jet lag put him in a condition where he found my petty math amusing, but he was having fun. I finally had to end it, since I still had stuff that needed to be done (cleaning the soft serve machine takes no less than 45 minutes).
Me: I have to get back to work, so I’ll do one more. If I get it right, you have to tip me!
That last part was a joke obviously. He agrees and pulls out $72.45. Before he can move his eyes from the money to mine, I say it’s $65.98.
BW: That’s pretty cool
Me: …
When you’re 19 and Bruce Willis tells you something that you take for granted is cool, it tends to leave you speechless. I made his coffee, gave it to him, and wished him a good night. Before he left, he dropped $20 in the tip jar and told me I earned it.

4. Leslie Nelson makes kids laugh with fart machine
I met Leslie Nielson when I was around 12, on a film set some family members worked on. He had, unknown to everyone at the time, a little fart-noise machine in his pocket. Not some stupid little one, but a full on, several different ‘types’ and durations, pro fart-noise machine.
When me and my 4 siblings were around him and a bunch of other adults, he would periodically let the thing rip mid conversation, and then stay perfectly calm, not leading on. Only then to give little eyebrow raises and other funny faces to us kids as no one else was looking, putting us in on the joke but leaving the adults all confused/embarrassed.
This went on the entire day we were on set, and I could barely keep from peeing myself.

5. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul cheer up a cancer patient
Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston are both awesome and amazing people. My brother was sick with brain cancer and in the hospital a lot, my mom had a friend who worked on the set of BB and asked if there was any way one of the actors could call and talk to my bro as he was a huge fan and aspiring actor.
Aaron called, and asked to talk to my brother, they chatted, my brother wasn’t feeling super great, but had a good conversation, even though afterwards he remembered all of the questions he originally wanted to ask. Towards the end of the conversation, Aaron said he was surprised that my brother didn’t ask to be called a bitch. They said goodbye and hung up. Aaron called back a few minutes later to ask for my brothers twitter, then he gave a huge shout out and then called him a bitch, and he gained a bunch of followers and got a bunch of tweets wishing him better.
Bryan Cranston called and they talked for a while, mainly about acting and Bryan’s experience as an actor and about my brothers hopes and dreams as an actor and his own experience. Made my brothers day. A couple weeks after the talk, we received a package in the mail, with the return name as B.C. My bro opened it up and inside was a BB season 5 premiere shirt, some of the stage meth used, an autographed headshot with a kind message on it, and a couple of other cool things. Put my brother in tears, he vlogged about it on his youtube channel about how amazing and kind it was.
These two men made my brothers life in the hospital so much better for him.
