My aunt talks about going off birth control without telling my uncle when they were dating. Says it’s the smartest thing she did. She trapped him with a baby and he married her out of obligation. I lost all respect for her when she told that story. So much stuff made sense after that with their marital problems over the years.

I knew a guy who bragged about how many sexually transmitted diseases he had gotten. It’s okay, bud. You can have that trophy. I sure don’t want it.

My aunt bragged to me about stealing a concert ticket out of a guy’s back pocket at a bar. She didn’t think it was mean at all, in fact she laughed and didn’t get why I didn’t think it was funny.

Overheard some young teenagers bragging about how they’re labeled as bullies at their high school. This one guy said something along the lines of being a bully since he was 7 and and one of the girls said ‘I respect that’ I had to laugh because Jesus Christ that’s some next level dumb stuff right there.

How they lose their temper and attempt to start fights when they feel offended. We’re not children, nobody is scared of you and no one thinks you’re tough simply because you can’t control your emotions and think you “would have kicked his butt.”

My father-in-law bragged a lot that he’d never changed a diaper. He had 5 children. For some reason he thought his lack of attention to his children was brag-worthy.

My algebra teacher in high school told us, many times, that he was a better, more careful driver when he was drinking. Great advice to teens who, as a class, were in the midst of getting our driver’s licenses.
karmasutra1977
Getting away with cheating on a significant other.

When I was younger I bragged about how quickly I could take a full shower until someone suggested that due to my time I was “unclean.” So I no longer brag about that, and have since upped my hygiene.

A woman I used to work with (years ago) once told a story of how she left belt marks on her daughter’s legs. She was laughing about it and how she told her daughter to keep it covered at school so she wouldn’t get in trouble and the daughter get taken away. I was too much in a “is this really happening/did she really just say that?” place to respond appropriately, but another woman there tore into her if I remember correctly.

Never taking vacation days at work. Especially annoying when it’s your boss or someone above your level that you have to get approval from, but whatever.
YerActualDa
Expensive vacations on credit. No, you’re not rich, you’re irresponsible.

Have a coworker that brags about how many times he’s been arrested in the past year and how much he hates cops and likes to mess with them.

I’ve heard people bragging about how they never read books. Not sure why you’d be prideful of that. I’m by no means a book snob but it’s almost like willful ignorance.

Im a librarian. Patrons come in all the time to either get DVDs or use the public computers to check Facebook and play Candy Crush, use notary services, etc., and exclaim proudly, I havent read or been in a library in years.
I also find this to be a turnoff from potential dating partners.
TheKnotStore
People who live in foreign countries and never bother to learn the local language, because they “don’t have to.”
Looking at you, Brits in Spain.
angelicism
Not getting children vaccinated.

How you can text and walk on the sidewalk and you’ve been doing this a long time without hitting anyone. That’s because EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO AVOID YOU.
Bad____Wolf
How much they aren’t like “other girls.” I know a lot of girls who say that who are just like the other girls who say that. But I think you should be proud of being you, if that’s who you are, just don’t try and make me feel bad because I’m wearing a dress and you’re wearing sweatpants.
trendsanalysis
Being “brutally honest”
No, you’re just a jerk, and making the people around you feel bad about themselves isn’t something to be proud of.
Big_Fat_Liar_
Too many people brag about working a butt-ton off hours every day with no days off. They talk about the hustle or the grind, and people like those posts, but…a work/life balance is important. Its not good to be working 2 weeks in a row with no days off.
Makelevi
People who brag about being politically incorrect. If the shoe is on the other foot, they also get offended.
wes34s
People who brag about driving fast (way over the speed limit) and think it somehow makes them cool or something… no, it makes you look like an immature idiot who’s willing to endanger others on the road including yourself for no good reason at all.
penguinpirateninja
People who brag when they throw a huge fit at a restaurant/store and get their way. Like “no” you’re acting 3 years old when you’re 44.
dairyer
Doing lots of illegal substances or having a high tolerance for them.

Rappers who brag about how much money they have. Hey, nobody rapper, you and I both know that you aren’t as rich as you say you are.
ManMan36
Moms bragging about how much they do in a day and how many activities they run their kids to in a day or a week. How about just spending time with your kids playing games or just hang out with them? I learn so much about my daughter and what’s going on in her life just by spending one on one time with her.
clblanchard
Ignorance. Being proud of not reading or continuing to learn or seeking answers to one’s own curiosity. The “I went to the school of hard knocks” pride in what they don’t know.
RuckusTamos3
