Siblings: you can’t live with ’em, you can’t live without ’em, right?
It can be great to grow up with a sibling who’s fun and easy to hang out with. But even the best siblings have their WTF moments.
These people shared the most outrageous things their siblings ever did on Reddit. These are hilarious, and so relatable!

“There is a barn across from a small pond by my house, and one winter my friend Murph and I were hanging out in the upper floor. We hear the dogs get let outside and someone mumbling, and we peek out the window so that we can keep tabs on whoever was outside now.
My little brother is walking towards the frozen pond with a pickaxe, and then begins to break apart the ice. After he’s chopped it up a bit, he crouches down like a friggin’ monkey, takes a chunk of pond ice, and begins eating it while looking back and forth to make sure nothing sneaked up on him while he ate. It was like watching the Nature Channel.”

“My half-siblings are 8 and 9 years younger than me.
On one Sunday morning I woke up to laughter and ‘weeeee!’ sounds coming from downstairs. I went to investigate and found that they had emptied a carton of milk, through which they were now sliding around on the floor with no clothes on.”

“When I was about four, my parents told my brother, aged 13, to take my sister and I for a walk for an hour. I think my parents wanted some ‘private time.’
He took us for a walk alright. We were gone for 12 hours. My parents were frantic and the police were looking for us. God knows what he was thinking, but he’s always been a bit of an oddball.”

(1/2) “I tell this story any time I get a chance to embarrass my brother.
I was about 9, making him about 6. Thanksgiving dinner at our grandparents’ house. We were both in the kitchen together, just the two of us, each with a slice of pumpkin pie.
My little brother grabs the salt shaker from the table, slowly unscrews the cap, dumps the entire shaker of salt on his pie, and eats the whole thing, making eye contact with me the whole time. He had this look like he knew what he was doing so I didn’t question it.”
(Story continued!)
(2/2) “Twenty minutes later, he’s chasing a cousin through the hall. He dead-stops, says, ‘Uh oh,’ and heaves up on the floor. He is descended upon by adults asking him what the matter is.
His response? ‘Too much salt.’
I was the only one who knew what he meant.”

“I had just finished riding my bike home from a friend’s place to see my mom pull into the driveway. Out of the other side of the car my sister’s head popped out. She’d been off to college and I didn’t expect to see her.
My first thought, which I openly said because I was a little scoundrel, was ‘Why’s sis home? She get pregnant at college or something?”
Out steps my very pregnant sister. It was a rare double ‘WTF’ moment, as I was surprised to see her so pregnant, while both my sister and mom were shocked at my accurate (and inappropriate joke guess.”

“This one time I walked into my bedroom to find my little brother lying all wrapped up in the covers in my bed. I was like ‘Bro what are you doing? This isn’t your bed,’ to which he responds, ‘I think I know what I’m doing,’ and fell asleep instantly. I said ‘screw it’ and went to sleep in his bed.
He then proceeded to snore, like obnoxiously loud.”

“Watching TV with my older sister.
She gets up, walks over to the house phone, and picks it up.
‘Hello?,’ she said. ‘Yes he is. One moment.’ She covers the microphone. ‘It’s for you.’
‘Weird, I didn’t hear it ring,’ I think to myself. I walk to the phone.
As soon as I get within striking distance, my sister begins savagely smacking me with the corded phone. For no reason. She concocted a ruse just to smack me with a phone.”

“My sister discovered her inner conscience when she was like 4.
She came downstairs into the kitchen totally distraught and said: ‘Who is talking to me all whole time? Every time I want to do something bad, somebody tells me not to but I can’t see anybody.'”

“A couple years ago my parents got divorced, and my mom started spending a lot of time a close male friend who had a daughter my age. The daughter and I were both 14 and got a lot of alone time together, so there was some mutual experimenting.
Well, things got really weird a few months ago, when my mom and Mark announced they were getting married and I was going to have a new stepsister.”

“He overwrote my save file on Zelda to start a new game. For this, I will never forgive him.”

“I was out on a ride with my dad and we arrived back at the house at like 3 am. My front door opens straight into my kitchen and I throw open the door expecting an empty kitchen, only to see my brother totally naked standing in front of the sink.
I screamed, ‘Why are you naked?!’ He scrambled back to the shower.
Apparently he was mid-shower and his back hurt, so he went to the kitchen to start heating water for a hot water bottle for his back. Then he just stopped to have a snack or something while waiting for the water to boil, all while leaving the shower running.
My dad still laughs about it.”

“The time I came home from school and found a literal horse in the garden. We later discovered that my brother had bought said horse from a nearby Gypsy campsite.”

“I was sitting in front of the television one day when my big sister walked up behind me. She threw a little bouncy ball at me, but it bounced off my head, hit the television, bounced back off my head and back at her. She was so surprised that it was such a perfect shot, that she decided to try again to repeat it. I was so happy that my sister was ‘playing’ with me that I sit there as she threw this ball at my head trying to repeat the shot for like a half hour.”

“Spoiler alert: the ending of the Harry Potter series.
My sister spoiled Dumbledore’s death for me. She read The Half-Blood Prince in 24 hours, and asked me if I wanted to know what happened. I said no, but she told me anyway. I’m still mad. Curse you, Laura.”

“When I was in elementary school, my mom took my sister out of class to take her out to eat at Country Buffet while leaving me in school. It wasn’t her birthday or anything, and I wasn’t being punished. It was a very normal day and my mom just felt like taking her out to eat, but not me. My sister was told not to tell me afterwards, but her being a little brat decided to tell me anyways. I was seriously heartbroken at that time. To this day, I still bring that up when I want to have things done my way.”

“This was my sister-in-law, not my sibling. We went on a road trip with my husbands family including our significant others. His half-sister, 18 years old, was ‘dating’ a woman she had never met in person from halfway across the world.
She threw tantrums everyday complaining that we were not giving her enough privacy for FaceTimeing (video calling) her girlfriend. She would FaceTime her in the car while we were driving to various activities or in the living room of our vacation rental. She had her own bedroom but said she shouldnt have to be locked away to be with her lover (her words, not mine).
She even told her dad and brother to stop using their 4G because they were using up all the data she needed to FaceTime her girlfriend. She and this girl got married about a year later. The funny thing is, we all really like her wife–shes really cool–but I could take or leave my sister-in-law.”

“It was pretty awkward when my brother knocked on my bedroom door to make sure I was using protection when my boyfriend was over, but also very nice of him to be worried about me like that.
The WTF moment comes from his girlfriend later that day sharing with me: ‘I know you probably dont want to know this, but your brother has a massive Johnson!’
I super did not want to know that. Get lost, Shannon.”

“My sister once non-jokingly called a German Shepherd a ‘Shepherd’s Pie.’
It still makes me wonder if I was adopted. She was 16 at the time.”

“My brother asks to borrow money. I loaned him $600.
6 months goes by.
Me: ‘Hey, can I get that $600 back that I loaned you?’
Him: ‘What $600?’
I remind him about the $600.
Him: ‘Oh, if you wanted that back, you should have never given it to me.'”

“My favorite story about my sibling is that I once went outside at 1 am to watch a meteor shower, and my brothers bedroom window faced the backyard. I dont know why he was up (he was maybe 12 at the time?), but I hear him open the window and shout, ‘Whos out there?!’
I reply, ‘Just me.’ And he says, ‘Oh, Ill be right out.’
My brother gets out of bed at 1 am, puts on some shoes and comes outside, and says, ‘So what are we doing?’
That kid was forever down for late night adventures apparently. Hes a great guy, 21 now, and Im always proud of him and his adventurous spirit.”

“When we were teenagers, my cousin was doing a class project where he had to take pictures of certain things around town. One of them was in the lobby of the local courthouse. So he, my sister and I go there. They almost didn’t let us in because we had a camera with us (this was before we were old enough to have cell phones) but ‘it was for a class project!’ so obviously it was cool.
We then asked the guards if we could go upstairs to the courtroom, ‘just to see what it was like,’ which surprisingly they agreed to as long as we didn’t ‘do anything dumb.’ So we go up there, and my cousin runs up to the judge’s podium and sees the gavel. He picks it up, and starts banging it on the stand yelling, ‘OBJECTION!’ My sister spends a solid five minutes taking pictures and video of this while I laugh my head off.’
Thankfully, that’s the only time any of us have ever been in a courthouse. Somehow.”

(1/2) “My little sister faked having cancer.
I live in the UK studying, and my parents didnt tell me because they had suspected the truth. It made us feel like jerks at times, because what if she really did? But my father, a mail carrier, has a bunch of doctors on his route and he would tell them the outlandish stuff she would tell us. Stuff like burns from chemo, not having to pay for treatment because she ‘knew someone,’ the fact that she was still out partying and having a good time with her friends.
The doctors would keep telling him, ‘I think she needs to talk to someone, but not a doctor.'”
(Story continued!)
(2/2) “She would take time off of work due to getting ‘treatment’ and her cancer survivor boss was all supportive at first. She mimicked the exact cancer types that took both sides of grandparents, with symptoms of my mother’s case added in.
It was a massive rift in the family, but about 2 years ago she just stopped talking about it. It turns out her boyfriend had broken up with her and the cancer thing was her way of getting attention. But I lost all respect for her after that.”

“Not the most ‘WTF,’ but one we still like to joke about. My grandmother generally sends us all cards at Christmas, but a few years ago we all got our cards in the mail and things didn’t quite match up.
My oldest sister and I got the usual cards with sweet heartfelt messages from our grandma. My other sister got that… plus $100 in cash. We still call her the $100 grandchild when we’re headed to family gatherings.”

“One time I was walking to the back door with my sister so we could go outside, and we were completely engrossed in whatever we were talking about. We went through the kitchen, past the fridge, and rounded the corner to the backdoor when all we hear is a yell and something move above us.
Our little brother comes crashing down from the pantry in a ninja kind of pose, but I guess he had caught his foot on something and ended up slamming against the pantry and crashing to the floor. We didnt know what to say or do.”
